Yangmingshan National Park

Ni Hao! Here is the second installment of our adventures in Taiwan. Let me just tell you that when I checked the weather forecast for the days that we were to be there, there was gonna be rain everyday! So when I saw that, I started praying and asking the Lord to bless us with good weather while there.
And he was faithful, we had perfect weather most of the days we were there, and there was just a couple of days when there was a drizzle and a little bit blustery, and that was on our first day, and when we went to Maokong. God is good!

Yangmingshan National Park consists of a group of mountains in Taiwan, and it is famous for its cherry blossoms in spring, the silver grass in autumn, and some snow in the winter. This is where we came on our second day.

To go to Yangmingshan, we had to go to Taipei Main Station first, and from there we took a bus. So if you are going, go to Taipei Main Station, take exit M1, and take bus 260 at the bus stop. The bus will stop at the park itself.

When you get to the park, there is a shuttle that goes around the whole park, and it is shuttle bus 108. Since we don't speak a tiny bit of Mandarin, we just boarded the shuttle bus, and we got off when a couple got off in one area.

We just walked around and we came to see this beautiful views, overlooking the Taipei basin. We just explored one tiny part of the park, as we were apprehensive not knowing how to speak the language. So to appease the nerves of my older sister, we went back down to the park entrance after exploring the first bit.

It was worth taking the risk of just boarding the shuttle bus and getting off when someone got off, as we got to see the silver grass on this slope.

We also got to see a beautiful camellia garden. The pink petals on the ground made it look so pretty, plus of course the flowers on the shrubs themselves. There were rows and rows of camellias in bloom.

Apparently the mountain range was originally called Grass Mountain, in reference to Datun Mountain, where we were, where the silver grass abound, one of the features of the park.

We took the shuttle bus back down, and then we just explored the neighboring area from the bus stop.If we knew Chinese, we might have explored on top a bit more, but my sister was already getting antsy about not seeing police to ask for help and things like that, so we decided to go back down.

This is what you see at the foot of the park. In the area you can already explore quite a lot.

It was a nice day, so we enjoyed nature, and I also say to you, enjoy the pictures!

The buses that go to and from Yangmingshan to Taipei Main Station.

You can easily spend the whole day here. But if you do, you might want to bring food, as you never know where you can buy food. We brought bread and fruit with us, so after we consumed that in a break, we decided to go somewhere else. And that somewhere else will be in the next article, so stay tuned!
