Pinto Art Museum

Hello everyone! Here is a place you can visit for a day when you are in Manila. I am talking about the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo, Rizal.

We arrived from our holiday in Taiwan on a Friday, rested on a Saturday, and the next day we took a day trip to Antipolo for a change. My sister's daughter wanted to take her Mom somewhere new this time she was vacationing. And since her firstborn wanted to go to the 'mountains', we decided we would go to some places in Rizal.

It was a family trip, so my siblings who were around and my niece's family got together for this outing. Pinto Art Museum is located in Grand Heights Subdivision in Antipolo City. If you ask me how to go there, I would not know, because we drove and just followed the directions of Waze, ha ha.

This museum showcases some of the Philippines' best contemporary artists. There are several galleries, outdoor installations and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Entrance to the place is PHP200 for adults, PHP180 for senior citizens and PWDs with valid IDs, and PHP100 for students with valid IDs. If you plan on staying there all day, there is also a cafe within the premises, so you won't starve.

The place is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, and are closed on Mondays. They are even open on public holidays, as long as it is not a Monday. So this is a perfect place for family bonding, or a weekend activity.

The white paint of the buildings contrasted beautifully against the greenery all around, and also against the blue skies above, so it was perfect for picture taking.

We looked around until just before lunchtime, but since there were two young children with us, we were not fully into appreciating the art. :-)

The place actually seemed like the buildings in Santorini, Greece that I often see in magazines or on TV. The white buildings, I mean.

We did take a lot of pictures, as the place is so beautiful. There are a lot of trees and flowering plants, all beautifully  maintained.

It was also special because us siblings were together sans 2, who were unable to come because they were somewhere else.

Plus we got to spend time with these two adorable children, who were so happy to be on an outing in the hills!

It was quite humid there though, so it was a good thing we had hand fans to ward off the heat.

We were unable to see all the galleries as the children were getting antsy plus we had a lunch reservation elsewhere, so we just looked around the places we could.

To commute, look for jeepneys bound for Antipolo-Simbahan or Antipolo-Shopwise signage. Get off at Antipolo Church and from there you can just take a tricycle and ask the driver to take you to Pinto Art Museum. I have no idea how much it will cost though.

Here are some of the outdoor installations.

I have to say we had some quality time together and the place was very nice, the kids were able to experience nature at the place we went to next, and we adults were able to bond in the short moment we had together. I highly recommend this place as a place  to go to for families and friends alike!

Stay tuned for the next adventures! For more travel articles, you can go to this page.
