Hello everyone! Planning about taking a trip to an island? Why don't you make that Panglao, in Bohol, Philippines? The food is good, the place is great, the beach is beautiful, and the people very friendly. And for me, that is the perfect recipe for a great destination.
This is just an article to share with you one of the beautiful beaches in Panglao, Bohol. It was the first time ever that I visited this island with my sister late last year, and we had a blast. It was just a few days but we had a great time. You can read about other things we did here.
To our international readers, Bohol is located in the island of Visayas, and Panglao now has its own international airport, so check which airlines fly this route. Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Asia are some of the airlines that fly to this island.
Alona Beach is the most popular beach in Panglao, and it is where almost everyone is. Various resorts and a horde of restaurants fill this area, and when we were there, a McDonald's was being constructed. I guess they can't be left out. :-(
These pictures that I am sharing were taken from different locations at Alona Beach, taken during different days and times, so enjoy!
This was taken at dusk the day after we went on the day tour, and we asked to be dropped at the beach so we can have dinner somewhere before going back to our lodgings, hence, the bag.
Food is very affordable, and they offer a lot of cuisines, from local, to Thai, to Chinese, to burgers and seafood. You won't ever go hungry when you are in Alona Beach. Just choose which restaurant you want to eat in and order away. The prices are also very reasonable.
Boats for rent, used by groups going island hopping. We also did that and we had a blast.
We went to the beach every afternoon, so that the sun is not too hot, or in the morning, when we went island hopping, because the meeting place was here.
Evening time, and the place is teeming with people and activity. Some having drinks at the nearby pubs, others having dinner, others taking a relaxing walk at the beach, and still, some others, like us, taking photos.
This is in front of Hennan Resort.
We were so disappointed we did not get to see the sunset as we were still on the way from the land tour on this day. We got to see this only, but we were grateful we enjoyed the day tour as well.
A moonlit evening.
Was just copying someone's pose, ha ha.
My sister on our first day on the island.
Also had to do a jump shot, which I do wherever I go. I hope I can still jump a few years from now.
The tricycle that cost PHP100 per ride, foreigner or not.
She just had to climb on the boat as well.
This was some of our food on the dinner buffet that we had on our last night, a fancy treat from my sister's daughter.
Vacations should be relaxing, the days filled with nothing but eating, sleeping, or swimming, or reading as the agenda, ha ha. We did just that in Bohol, and I hope we get to do it again sometime soon.
