Tennoji Park

Kon'nichiwa again! If you are a regular reader of this blog site, you would know that I have been to Japan recently, and yes, I haven't finished sharing about all the places we visited.

The thing I love about Japan is that they have a lot of parks that people can go to and spend their days in. Every community has a park, and that is the same in the area we stayed in. Our hotel was located in the area called Dobutsuen Mae, and a couple of blocks from there is the Tennoji Park and Zoo.
So on our last day, instead of going somewhere far, we decided to explore the area in our neighborhood, and true enough, we came across this nice park. Near the area is the Tsutenkaku, or the Osaka Tower, which they dub the Eiffel Tower of Osaka, but that will be in another post.
As is common in parks, they are numerous cherry tress that were in full bloom. People can have picnics, people can play ballgames, they can just relax and spend the day, and that is one thing I wish we here in the Philippines could have, instead of malls.
Beside Tennoji Park is the Keitakuen Garden, which we also explored, for a fee of Y150. As is typical of Japanese gardens, there is a pond, there are bonsai trees, and a lot of other greens that just invites people to breathe in and relax.
I took this picture in front of the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, overlooking the Tsutenkaku Tower and the area of Shinsekai below.
Tennoji is located in the southeast of Central Osaka, and it is Osaka's third major downtown hub. The used to be synonymous with everything backwards and unfashionable. Topped by the Tsutenkaku Tower, this was the place people came to see what Japan was like before it became rich.
Another picture of the Tsutenkaku Tower from the park.
We saw mostly local people hanging out in the park, but there were a few tourists like us wandering around, enjoying the nice weather.
They definitely like red colored bridges. I also saw another bridge of the same color when we went to Minoo Park. It does create a beautiful contrast to the green background.
The tall building in the background is the Abeno Harukas, which is the  tallest skyscraper in Japan. The building stands 300 meters tall, and is located on top of the Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi station.
Not sure if someone arranged the fallen flowers like this but I found it irresistible so I took a picture.
The exit of Keitakuen Garden that connects to Tennoji park.
There were also quite a number of pigeons enjoying the tranquility of the park.
There is also a memorial area inside the park, as well as a playground, so people of all ages can enjoy.
The colors must also be amazing during autumn. I can only imagine.
Or I could choose to go back. Why not?
Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them! And if you ever go to Osaka and want to enjoy another park that is not teeming with tourists, here is one place you can go to.
