Osaka Expo Park

Kon-nichiwa! How is everyone doing? You're all doing great, I hope. And if not, here's something to lift up your mood! The beautiful scenery of the Osaka Expo Park.

The Osaka Expo Park is a very large public park in Osaka. The park hosted the Japan World Exposition in 1970, the first of its kind in Asia.Today, the grounds have become a popular destination for enjoying nature, sports, museums and seasonal flowers.
Several of the original installations during the Expo remained, just like the Tower of the Sun, which is the most recognizable icon of the park. This is the first thing you see as you enter.
To go to the park, you can take the Midosuji Subway line from central Osaka (e.g. Tennoji, Namba, Umeda and Shin Osaka stations) to Senri-Chuo and transfer to the Osaka Monorail going to Kadomashi. Get off at Bampakukinen-koen station.
This is the Osaka Monorail which we took going to the park, and from a distance, you can see the many cherry trees already. Entrance to the park is through vending machines, and depending on what you want to see is the amount you pay.
We paid Y250 for the gardens, and I have to say, that amount is so worth it to see the beauty waiting for us to explore and enjoy.
This park is actually one of the most popular parks in Osaka for spring picnics or hanami as they call it, and it surely does not disappoint.
We arrived at the park around 4 in the afternoon, so we found a spot under one of the cherry trees to lay our picnic mat, and we started taking pictures around the park.
The total area is massive, there is a pond they call the Dream Pond, where you can rent small paddle boats, there is a Japanese landscape garden, a tulip garden, and of course, the 5,000 cherry trees.
My friend took her siesta under the cherry trees, and I took my phone with me and started exploring the park on my own. My, was I so happy walking around the park!
This park definitely had the most cherry trees compared to all the other parks we've been to, and I just couldn't get enough pictures of them.
We stayed there until dinner time, and I just couldn't resist taking a jump shot.
The tulip garden was so beautiful- seeing the rows of tulips in different colors was a feast to the eyes.
My phone could not capture the colors enough- they were just such a marvel to the eyes.
In the park are also stalls for different snacks and drinks, so if you did not bring food with you, you can always buy some inside the park.
Our picnic spot was somewhere near this area, and we just spread our picnic blanket, ate our food and did our thing, just like the other people there.
Once it got dark, the lights came on to illuminate the trees, and the different colors made the evening magical. By that time it was already super cold, so we quickly ate our dinner and left.:-)
I took my friend back to the tulip garden after she woke up and we got to see the sunset, sort of.

There is our picnic spot. It sure was such a fun experience having our own picnic there.

Behind these flowers is the Dream Pond, where you can rent the paddle boats.

The ferris wheel is located at the Expo City, the shopping center located outside the park.
This is the Tower of the Sun, which is the first thing you see when you get in.

This is definitely a place worth going to. So if you are planning to take a trip to Osaka, make sure you include this in your itinerary. Enjoy the pictures and stay tuned for more!
